What can I expect at Aktiva?

Aktiva is a multi choice, multi activity camp. Your child gets to choose what Aktiva is like for them! We do a mix of structured activities, led by members of our fantastic team , where you can particiapte in a sport, such as tennis, football, basketball, dodgeball, or get creative with out multi-media art activities, using collage, clay, paint and pen, meaning that there's always something to make new to try. Between these there's some unstructured play, allowing you play to take you wherever your imagination will take you! Below is a sample itinerary for a day of camp!

Sample Day

  7.45 am– drop off, children are registered and engage in free play, outdoors as long as weather permits

  9:00 am - Circle time & Ice breakers – children are introduced to eachother through games. Here we can share what we like and don't like to do

  9:30 am -Session 2 , either arts or sports and adult initiated

10:30 am - Snack time! (Please see our lunchbox guidance)

11:30 am -Session 3 , either arts or sports and adult initiated. Children are encourged to try art if they did sport or sport if they did art, but the choice is always theirs 

  1:00 pm - Lunchtime! Please send your child to Aktiva with a healthy packed lunch. You can find our lunchbox guidance here

  1:30 pm - Free play after lunch

  2:00 pm - Session 4, either art or sport and  adult initiated 

  3:00 pm -Snack time! (Please see our lunchbox guidance)

  3:30 pm -  Session 5, either art or sport and  adult initiated 

  5:00 pm - Pickup time begins, and lighter sport or art sessions

  6:00 pm - All children must be picked up by 6:00pm, site closes

Activities in the structures sessions include sports such as :  football, basketball, hockey, tennis, tag rugby, netball, volleyball, benchball, shark attack and many more; and art activities such as: drawing, painting, collage, clay modelling, sand art, making animals and many others. 

What if I don't know anyone?

We welcome children from all schools as well as children from all over the world: your children will make new friends and meet new people in our exciting and vibrant community. At circle time at the start of the day, children are introduced to each other through games, and they quickly make friends. The games we play thoughtout the day build new friendships, and build on existing ones. The Aktiva team keep an eye on everyone, and ensure everyone is having fun!

What not to bring

NO NUTS: We have a no nuts policy. Please don’t bring any products containing nuts

Valuable clothes, mobile phones, smart watches, computer games, ipods/music devices ,

money etc

It’s safer if children do not wear jewellery to camp as there are certain activities where

these items will need to be removed

It’s a great shame but for health and hygiene reasons we can’t allow any birthday cakes (or

other food treats) to be brought onto camp to be shared with the groups

Please note: Unfortunately, staff are unable to look after anything for children during

sessions. We cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage to personal items or

clothing

Registration and drop off

Ahead of camp you must complete your child Essential Information form online, by mid day the day before your child attends.  You will find this form via your online account under the ‘Bookings’ or ‘My Children’ section. This online information is used by the camp to auto populate other reports for use on camp and therefore must be completed by midnight on the Sunday ahead of the week your child is attending.

Gates open at 7:45am for extended day bookings and at 9:00am for standard day bookings.

If you arrive late and the gates are closed please call the site number at the drop off gate and an Aktiva team member will be with you to register your child into camp.

Pickup and security

Collection is between 4:45pm -5:00pm (6:00pm for extended day booking)

If someone else is collecting your child, please add their details to Collecting Persons on your account.

Please note, our sites are only registered from 7:45am-6:00pm, therefore all children must be collected by 6pm

Please keep to the start and finish times of the day. Children and staff will be involved in activities and we are keen to minimise interruptions to our fun. Should you be running late or early for pickup, please contact the Camp Manager to make the necessary arrangements. Unable to attend

If your child is unable to attend, please phone the bookings line on  020 3551 8909  before 9:30am.  To reduce the spread of illness and infection to other campers, please do not send your child to camp if they are unwell. 

Medication at Camp

Please provide any medication your child needs (inhalers, epi pens etc) at registration. Our camps have a paediatric first aider on site at all times. You will need to fill in a form with details of your child's medication to be given to a member of staff at camp. You will also need to fill out the medical requirements section of the booking form on Booked.it 

Lost Property

Please remember to clearly label all items as our camp staff can contact you if they have found anything. Lost property items will be displayed in the registration area if found, weather permitting. Please check regularly.  If your child misplaces any personal items, please speak directly to the camp. On the last day of each season any unclaimed lost property will be taken to a local charity shop. We are not responsible for any items left at camp.

Camp Feedback

If you have any feedback on our services and want to share on our team's successes, please make the Camp Manager aware. We would love to hear about the fun your child is having at camp and would welcome feedback using this form.

Should you have any specific requirements relating to your child's time at camp, we would ask that, in the first instance, you speak directly to the Camp Manager. The staff onsite are working with the children directly and will be able to quickly help you.
